In the High Coast, where the granite rises from the sea, the mountains are a major part of life. They shape everyday life, separate river valley from river valley, and set the boundaries for human endeavor.

It was here, on the shores of the Moälven river, that the Jonsson siblings began building something that could challenge the bedrock and crush preconceptions of what is possible. A machine transformed granite into gravel, and the harsh conditions of nature into a solid foundation for roads, buildings, and communities.

Mobile stone crushers became the foundation of JONSSON’s success. With innovation, constant development, and a unique work culture, Anders, Gunnar, and Annette shaped a modern industrial company out of the workshop in the shadow of Billaberget.

Almost 50 years after the first JONSSON crusher, we help customers all over the world build their own success with premium-class crushers and screens.

JONSSON was born out of an unyielding will to forge its own path, and to help others do the same. Together we can move mountains.

Jonsson's founding

In the beginning of the 1950s, Överhörnäs was dominated by the fur trade, and this was the environment in which Per Johan Jonsson started his business, together with his sons, in 1953.

1950

Specialist store

In the 1960s, sons Nils, Stig and Sture, took the company in a completely different direction and opened a specialist store down by the Happstafjärden lake, where they started to trade in construction machinery and used crushing equipment.

1960

Used crushing plants

The business was involved in overhauling used crushing equipment and conversions.

1970

Jonsson's first crushing plant

The company took yet another turn when the third generation of Anders, Gunnar and Annette took over. They initiated a new collaboration with one of the oldest customers to design and build the first wheeled mobile crusher produced by Jonsson, the MKK 60.

1980

Larger crushers on caterpillar feet

By the end of the 1990s, the company had now developed the capacity to also build machines with larger crushers on caterpillar feet, with increased capacity and mobility.

1990

Growing demand

During the first decade of the 2000s, the growing demand for machines in the Scandinavian market led to the construction of new assembly halls and a new warehouse.

2000

Metso Group

In 2018, Jonsson becomes part of the international Metso Group.

2010

Jonsson continues to expand internationally.
